Illinois was the first state in the nation to offer comprehensive health insurance coverage to all uninsured children.  The program is called All Kids and it provides low-cost or free health insurance to over 1.6 million Illinois children. Through All Kids, children receive coverage that includes doctor visits, hospital stays, prescription drugs, vision care, dental care and medical services like eyeglasses and asthma inhalers.
